Workshop workflow

From first call to final test drive

Every job at Heath Motor Group follows the same disciplined path. You know what happens next, what it costs, and when your vehicle will be ready. No surprises, no guesswork.

01

Book & describe

Call or book online with a description of the issue or the service you need. We confirm a slot that fits your schedule and note any manufacturer schedule requirements for your model.

02

Inspect & estimate

The vehicle goes on the lift for a visual check. We run computerised diagnostics, test key systems, and put together a transparent cost estimate. You approve the work before any part is ordered.

03

Repair & replace

Qualified technicians carry out the approved work using quality parts. Whether it is a brake overhaul, clutch replacement, or suspension refresh, every component is fitted to specification.

04

Test & verify

A road test checks behaviour under real driving conditions. We re-scan the systems to confirm no fault codes remain and verify that the repair holds under load.

05

Handover & report

You receive a plain-language summary of what was done, which parts were fitted, and what we recommend for the next service interval. The invoice matches the estimate you approved.

06

Follow-up

We check in after a few weeks of driving to confirm everything is holding up. If anything feels off, bring it back and we will look at it promptly.

Workshop FAQ

Straight answers about servicing, diagnostics and inspections

Practical details on how we work, what to expect before a job starts, and how we keep your car on the road without guesswork.

Do you follow the manufacturer’s service schedule?

Yes. We stick to the intervals listed in your owner’s manual for oil, filters, spark plugs and fluid checks. If your car has a flexible service indicator, we read it during the health check and advise based on actual wear, not just mileage.

What does a full vehicle health check include?

We inspect brakes, suspension bushes and links, tyre condition and pressure, battery state of charge, belts, hoses, and fluid levels. You get a written report with clear priorities — what needs attention now and what can wait.

How do you provide cost estimates before work begins?

After the initial inspection, we give you a fixed-price quote for the recommended work. No hidden fees. If we find an additional issue during the job, we stop and call you with the exact cost before proceeding.

Can you handle fleet servicing and scheduled maintenance?

We service private cars and light commercial fleets. For fleet accounts we keep digital service records, remind you when vehicles are due, and offer flexible booking windows to reduce downtime.

What kind of diagnostic equipment do you use?

We use computerised scanners that read manufacturer-specific codes and live sensor data. This helps us trace intermittent faults like misfires or sensor failures instead of replacing parts on a guess.

Do you carry out pre-purchase inspections for used cars?

Yes. Our 150-point inspection covers engine compression, transmission behaviour, suspension, brakes, and structural checks. You receive a condition report you can use to negotiate with confidence.

Workshop Projects

Recent systems and workflow upgrades

A look at the internal tools and processes we have built to keep the workshop running on time, from customer intake to bay scheduling and service follow-ups.

Client Onboarding Portal

Vehicle intake and history capture

We replaced paper-based job sheets with a digital intake portal that records service history, known faults, and customer preferences before a car reaches the bay. The system flags overdue maintenance items and gives the service advisor a complete picture during the initial walkaround. This page explains how the portal was scoped, what data it holds, and how it shortens the booking conversation.

Seasonal Booking Workflow

Bay scheduling around peak demand

Winter tyre changes and pre-holiday inspections create predictable spikes that used to overwhelm the front desk. We built a booking workflow that reserves bay capacity for urgent brake and safety work while keeping routine servicing slots open. The tradeoffs around lead times and same-day appointments are covered here, along with how the team manages the queue when a job runs long.

Support Dashboard Refresh

Service follow-up and job status tracking

Customers often called to ask where their car was in the repair process, which pulled technicians away from the workshop floor. This refresh gave the front desk a live view of job status, estimated completion times, and parts on order. It also introduced automatic follow-up prompts for warranty work and scheduled maintenance reminders, so no vehicle slips through the cracks after it leaves the bay.
